Happy Weekends
Monday, June 23, 2014
There’s nothing more refreshing than a happy, warm weekend.
I will say, though – I was positive it was Sunday when I woke up this morning.
Then I realized it wasn’t and I was very sad that the weekend was over.
I spent Saturday morning with my dog at our local park and
we had a lot of fun. She has been doing really well off-leash so we've been
practicing more and more every chance that we get. After a morning outside, I
spent the majority of the day casually running errands. I had a lot of things I
needed to buy for my mom’s 50th birthday present! I was really
inspired by an episode of Barefoot Contessa I watched the week before so I
based a lot of my ideas on that. I think I might do a post on the recipe I
used.
Saturday night was officially “date night” in my house. My fiancé
and I like to dedicate at least two to three nights per month to go out and
catch up on any movies we’ve wanted to see or any restaurants we’ve wanted to
try. I like to get dressed up and he likes to eat so it’s perfect!
Sunday was a really special day. It was my mom’s fiftieth
birthday party and it’s the first surprise party we’ve ever pulled off on her!
About thirty people showed up, all close family and friends, and my mom’s face
was priceless every time another car pulled up. We drank a lot of sangria, ate
a lot of food, and had so much fun. I hadn’t seen a lot of those people in a
while.
So the weekend’s over and now we’re back to reality. How was
your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
